A place with traceable data
Horizon works best when elevation, bathymetry, or planetary data can be sourced and verified.
A community signal
If a place matters to a group of people, tell us who they are and where they gather.
A respectful subject
Culturally sensitive or sacred places require extra care. We may decline or defer places that should not be commercialized without deeper context or permission.

People who nominate, test, share, and help shape early archive entries may be invited into future contributor updates. This is not a public ranking or ambassador program. It is a way to keep the project close to the communities that care about the places.

Common questions.
Will my nomination definitely become a product?
No. Nominations help guide future research and design decisions, but every Archive Entry still requires data availability, design fit, production readiness, and ethical review.
Can I nominate a place outside the US?
Yes. International nominations help us understand demand for future regional terrain collections.
Can I nominate a sacred or culturally sensitive place?
You can, but Horizon may decline or defer places that require deeper cultural context, permission, or a non-commercial approach.
What kind of data do you need?
Horizon works from traceable elevation, bathymetry, or planetary datasets. If data is unavailable or not appropriate to use, the place may not become an Archive Entry.

If your nomination becomes a strong candidate, we may follow up for context, photos, community references, or early feedback.
